Pickup from Bukhara Hotel: Meet your driver and depart from your hotel in Bukhara for an unforgettable journey to Aydar Lake and the Kyzylkum Desert. Along the way, you may visit several historical and cultural attractions.
Day 1: Transfer from Bukhara to Aydar Lake Yurt Camp
- Gijduvan Ceramic School (Optional) - Visit a traditional family-run pottery workshop, enjoy a ceramic masterclass, and discover the centuries-old craftsmanship of Gijduvan ceramics.
- Rabat Malik Sardoba - A medieval Silk Road water reservoir that once supplied fresh water to merchants and travelers crossing the desert.
- Sharmyshsoy Gorge - Explore one of Uzbekistan's most important petroglyph sites, home to more than 6,000 ancient rock carvings depicting hunting scenes, animals, daily life, and spiritual symbols dating back thousands of years.
- Alexander the Great's Fortress in Nurata - Discover the remains of an ancient fortress traditionally associated with Alexander the Great and enjoy panoramic views of Nurata.
Break for Lunch (Optional): If departing from Bukhara later in the morning, lunch can be arranged at a traditional local house in Nurata before continuing toward Aydar Lake.
- Arrival at Yurt Camp - Upon arrival, check in and relax. If time permits, your driver can take you to Aydar Lake, located approximately 2 km from the camp, for a short walk along the lakeshore.
- Overnight in Yurt Camp - Enjoy dinner at the camp before gathering around the campfire, listening to traditional folklore music, and experiencing the peaceful atmosphere of the Kyzylkum Desert beneath a star-filled sky.
Day 2: Return to Bukhara or Continue to Samarkand
- Breakfast at Yurt Camp - Breakfast is included and served at the camp.
- Lake Walk or Camel Riding (Optional) - Before or after breakfast, visit Aydar Lake for a relaxing walk along the shore or enjoy optional camel riding and other desert activities.
- Return to Yurt Camp - After your morning activities, return to the camp, pack your belongings, and prepare for departure.
- Departure to Bukhara or Samarkand - Travel comfortably back to Bukhara or continue to Samarkand. The journey usually takes approximately 4–5 hours. Additional stops for rest, photos, or lunch (not included) can be arranged upon request.
