Day 1: Samarkand to Nuratau Mountain Villages
Hotel Pickup from Samarkand: Meet your driver at your hotel reception and depart for the Nuratau Mountain Villages. The journey takes approximately 4–4.5 hours through the beautiful countryside of central Uzbekistan.
- Arrival at Nuratau Villages - If departing from Samarkand in the morning, you will arrive around lunchtime and be welcomed by your local hosts with a traditional homemade meal.
- Check-in at Guest House - Settle into a family-run guesthouse and experience the authentic atmosphere of village life in the Nuratau Mountains.
- Guided Hiking Tour with Local Host - Enjoy a guided walk through the surrounding hills and valleys. Along the route, discover unique rock formations, traditional agriculture, shepherd life, local customs, and spectacular mountain landscapes.
- Dinner and Cooking Experience - Participate in a traditional cooking masterclass with your hosts and enjoy homemade local dishes prepared using regional recipes.
- Overnight Stay in Village Guest House - Spend the night in a comfortable guesthouse surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the Nuratau Mountains.
Day 2: Return to Samarkand or Continue to Bukhara
Breakfast: Enjoy a traditional breakfast at the guesthouse before beginning the day's activities.
- Horseback Hiking Tour (Optional) - Upon request, a horseback excursion through the surrounding countryside can be arranged. After the activity, return to the guesthouse and prepare for departure.
- Transfer from Village to Samarkand - Direct transfer back to Samarkand with a driving time of approximately 4–4.5 hours.
- Transfer from Village to Bukhara - If continuing to Bukhara, several sightseeing stops can be arranged along the way.
- Alexander the Great's Fortress in Nurata - Visit the remains of the ancient fortress traditionally associated with Alexander the Great, offering beautiful views over the Nuratau region.
Break for Lunch (Optional): A stop for lunch can be arranged at a traditional local teahouse in Nurata before continuing the journey.
- Sharmyshsoy Gorge - Explore one of Uzbekistan's most important petroglyph sites, featuring more than 6,000 ancient rock carvings dating back thousands of years.
- Gijduvan Ceramic School - Visit the famous pottery center known for its vibrant colors, geometric designs, and traditional ceramic-making techniques passed down through generations.
- Drive to Bukhara - Continue to Bukhara with an approximate driving time of 5–6 hours. Additional stops for meals or rest can be arranged upon request.
